Trends come and go, and the days of thin, fine brows are well and truly over. Women now sport the thicker the better look, with fluffier brows taking a forefront in fashion. Make up brands have jumped on board the movement and have produced many brow products which will help you achieve this look.
If you’re interested in the bigger brow but want more of a permanent fix that you won’t have to perfect every morning, then microblading could be your answer.
Microblading has become a popular way to get those brows looking faultless. Unless you’re up-to-date with the latest trends, you may not know what the process entails or if it’s the right option for you.
Here at Microblade Eyebrow, we want you to be sure about your treatment, so we have created the ultimate guide which will answer all your questions.
What is Microblading?
In simple terms, microblading is semi-permanent make-up. It entails a manual process of inserting pigment into the skin in fine strokes to create the illusion of real hairs. This creates a desired shape and fullness to the eyebrows, without going through the process of tattooing or spending ages on your make up routine in the morning.
How does the Microblading process work?
When getting your eyebrows micro bladed, expect to be with the beautician for around 2-3 hours during your first session.
To start the process, you will have decided on your desired shape and colour which will be positioned by the beautician using specific measuring techniques, to make sure everything’s perfectly in place.
Excess hairs are threaded and plucked, before numbing cream is applied which takes around 40 minutes to settle. After the 40 minutes, the pigment can start to be placed.
Due to the numbing cream, the microblading process is painless but can be an uncomfortable sensation. The scratching sound of the blade can often be the most uncomfortable part.
After 4-6 weeks of your first session, you will be expected to return for a follow up as certain areas may not pick up during your initial appointment. This session will take between 1-2 hours where any minor necessary touch ups will be completed.
How much does Microblading cost?
Getting them dream statement brows is a big deal these days, with it often being said eyebrows shape the perfect frame to your facial features. If you’re willing to pay to get them ideal eyebrows, then microblading will set you back a couple of hundred, where prices usually range between £300 and £600 for a consultation, the initial treatment as well as a top up treatment. Microblading eyebrow aftercare
Once your brows are completed, they take between one and two weeks to heal over and around a month for the colour to properly set in.
Aftercare can often be the most important part, as you don’t want to ruin your brand-new brows. Most importantly, after the procedure, you need to keep the brows as dry as possible for the two weeks healing process. Water around the brow area can result in the ink being washed out of the skin, so also avoid activities such as the gym, or going on any hot holidays to evade the risk of sweat.
Other tips include:
- Use a healing balm to moisturise brows
- Do not apply make-up on the treatment within the first 10 days
- Do not pick, peel or scratch the area
